Carl Douglas “Doug” Davis, Sr.

Carl Douglas “Doug” Davis, Sr., 79, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, August 15, 2017. He was born on February 18, 1938, to Elma Moye Davis and Benny B. Davis, in Saratoga.

Carl Douglas Davis had many names: Doug, Dad, Pa, Poppy, and Uncle Doug. He was an amazing man of faith and loved his family with all his heart. They were his pride and joy. He also enjoyed golf, hunting, and fishing with friends and family. He was a role model to everyone around him and never met a stranger. He embodied a kind spirit and positive attitude no matter the trials he faced. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. But we look forward to seeing him again one day soon.

Survivors include his daughters, Debra Roberts and her husband, Rick, of Spring and Lisa Vaughan and her husband, Jimmie, of Mesquite; sons, Doug Davis Jr. and his wife, Dianna, of Beaumont and Jason Davis of Madisonville; grandchildren, Tyler Roberts and his wife, Tracie, of Willis; Campbell Roberts and Maggie Roberts, both of Huntsville; and Logan Davis and Kolton Davis, both of Beaumont; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Davis of Beaumont, Kay Bennett and her husband, Truett, of Silsbee, and Skipper Campbell of Brenham; brother-in-law, Dr. Phillip Campbell of Dallas; nephews, Scott Bennett, Brad Bennett, and Greg Davis; niece, Julie Kunefke; and three great-nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Nelda “Nell” Ruth Davis.

A gathering of Mr. Davis’ family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, August 20, 2017, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 21, 2017, at Broussard’s. A graveside service will follow Monday afternoon at 4:00 p.m., at Mount Tabor Cemetery, 1172 Williams Lane, Madisonville.
