Grace Delores Rollo

Grace Delores Devillier Rollo, 84, of Winnie went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 .  She was born on January 24, 1933 in Beaumont, to Hilda Bonin Devillier and Olide Coulon Devillier, Jr.

Delores was a student at East Chambers for 1st through 12th grade.  She was a talented athlete and musician.  She was a member of the East Chambers State Championship Basketball teams of 1948 and 1950.  Delores also played the piano and was the accordion musician for the Winnie Lions Club meetings during her high school years.

She married Dr. William Calvin Rollo in 1952 and they were happily married for fifty-four years.  They enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling.  Their home was always open for entertaining.

Delores is survived by her sister, Rose Devillier Hearn and brother, Olide Coulon Devillier, III.

She is also survived by sons, Billy Rollo and wife Delores Ann, Jeff Rollo and wife Melissa, Bobby Rollo and wife Susan, and Keith Rollo and wife Robin.  Her grandchildren included Trey Rollo, Kristen Rollo, Katie and her husband Jeb Sparks, Jes Rollo, Isaac Rollo, Izzy Rollo, Josh Rollo, Haylea and her husband Cade Barrow, and Whitney Rollo.  She is also survived by great grandchildren Kamille and Karoline Sparks, Rori and Tyler Stevens, Cash Barrow, and Ty Ardoin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. W.C. Rollo, and grandchildren Ashley Rollo, Zach Rollo, and Spencer Rollo, as well her parents, Hilda and Olide Devillier.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to the East Chambers ISD Education Foundation, 270 School Road, Winnie, Texas, 77665.

A gathering of Mrs. Rollo’s family and friends will begin at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 17, 2017, followed by her funeral, at 3:00 p.m., at First United Methodist Church, 1708 SH 124, Winnie. Her interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie. Services are under the directions of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont.
