Dear Betty and all of Jay's family: I was so shocked and saddened by news of Jay's death. I only heard about it on the news Thursday. I have such fond memories of him as a little boy with Charlie and J.B. at our house in Sour Lake and at your house in Silsbee. I'm sorry to say I didn't know him as an adult, but from all the stories I'm hearing, he became the man you and J.B. would have wanted him to be. Hopefully I will see you at the Visitation. Love, Cleo and Carroll.

Rhonda and family, we will keep you in our prayers as you take this journey to lay you sweet husband and father to rest. Jay was one of the sweetest men I have ever met and always had a smile on his face. He loved this community and served it proudly. May he find eternal rest in the arms of our heavenly father.
