JoNell Felps

December 16, 1942 - September 13, 2017

JoNell Felps, 74, of Fred, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on December 16, 1942, in Buna, to Agnes Goins Curry and Richard Alton Curry.

JoNell was the widow of Jerry Felps. They shared forty-six years of marriage together and she was a beloved mother and grandmother. JoNell spent most of her life as a homemaker.

She was a member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church and she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-granchildren, camping, takng her boat out and spoiling her dog, Buster. JoNell will be remembered for her strength, independence, and love for her family.

Survivors include her daughters, Lana Drake; Kim Lout and her husband, Rusty; Tana Carruth and her husband, Rossi; and Stephanie Tressler and her husband, Billy; grandchildren, Jeremy Wilder; Ashley Burkhalter and her husband, Chase; Matthew Lout and his wife, Kaisha; Randy Lout; Sommer Buckner and her husband, Blake; Logan Tressler; and Luke Tressler; and great-grandchildren, Kambrie Lout, Avalynn Lout, Hunter Burkhalter, MacKinley Burkhalter, Haisley Buckner, Hyde Buckner, Holden Buckner, and Hadison Buckner. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and numerous sisters and brothers. JoNell was one of thirteen siblings.

A gathering of Mrs. Felps’ family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., with her funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 16, 2017, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her interment will follow at Baker-Bell Cemetery, Fred.
