Clara Louise Smith

January 12, 1942 - August 23, 2017

Louise Lade Smith, beloved wife of Lonnie Wade Smith, joined her Lord and Savior on August 23, 2017. She was born Clara Louise Lade, to Roy and Irene Hornbeck Lade, on January 12, 1942 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and the Lade family resided in Bridge City, Texas.

Louise has been a long-time resident of Fannett, Texas where she raised her family. Lonnie and Louise are devout members of the congregation-family at Grace Baptist Church of Fannett. She was an avid gardener, seamstress and loved cooking for her family and friends. Her greatest joy was found in celebrating her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren’s lives, devoting her time to attend their events from band to FFA to all of their various sports. She was always front and center, cheering them on, with Lonnie right beside her. Her smile, love and support will follow them throughout their lives.

Louise is survived by her husband, Lonnie Smith; her sons, Michael Lange and his wife, Denise, of Crystal Beach, Texas; David Lange and his wife, Mary, of Winnie, Texas; Dearld Lange Jr, and Troy Lange and his wife, Susan, of Dallas, Georgia; daughters, Kelly Elizabeth Lange, of Beaumont; Kelly Marlene Metts and her husband, Stretch Metts, of Beaumont; Gabrielle Lange, of Beaumont. She was Grandma Louise to 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her daughter, Christina Lange.

She was the beloved matriarch to her large family, always available to help us solve our day to day problems, always with a kind listening ear, solid advice and unconditional love. Her devotion to her husband Lonnie and the life and love they shared will continue to be a perfect example to all of us of what marriage should truly be when you allow God to guide your heart.
