Dr. robert Wayne Bradsby

Dr. Robert Wayne Bradsby, 92, of Village Mills, died Friday, March 10, 2017. He was born on July 11, 1924, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Belva Esther Hall Bradsby and Charles Addison Bradsby. Robert was a strong religious leader in multiple Baptist churches in Oklahoma and Texas, and a business entrepreneur, having owned several Gibson’s Discount Center franchise locations. He also would make many mission trips to Africa, and founded a school there.

Robert is survived by his wife of thirty-three years, Pollye Bradsby; his children, Bryan Bradsby and his wife, Virgie; Bob Bradsby II and his wife, Karen; Bruce Bradsby and his wife, Su; and Betsy Bradsby; step-children, Steve Fairchild and his wife, Karen; Debbie Thornton and her husband, Jimmy; Richard Fairchild; and Jon Fairchild and his wife, Laurie; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Evelyn Williams, Arlene Cook, Lucille Bowers, Barney Bradsby, and Marvin Bradsby.

A gathering of Dr. Bradsby’s family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.,Thursday, March 16, 2017, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 17, 2017, with his interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
