Edward Herman Spears

August 17, 1928 - July 20, 2017

Edward Herman Spears, 88, of Wildwood, died Thursday, July 20, 2017. He was born on August 17, 1928, in Vidor, to Myrtle Smith and Carl Spears. Edward was a United States Marine Corps veteran, having served during World War II and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from Texaco.

Survivors include his daughter, Roxann Ogden of Houston; granddaughter, Jessica Ogden of Houston; and special friends, Beverly Jones, Carla McKee, and Mary K. and John Adams. Edward is preceded in death by his mother and father; and wife, Doris Joan Smith Spears.

Mr. Spears’ gathering of family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with his memorial service at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Village Mills United Methodist Church, 5943 FM 3063, Village Mills. His committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.

I know, I am late as usual. I served in korea with ed and he was my boss and my friend.
