Gayla M. Savoie

January 24, 1960 - June 25, 2017

Gayla M. Savoie, 57, of Stowell, died Sunday, June 25, 2017. She was born January 24, 1960, in Anahuac, to Barbara Thibodeaux Broussard and Robert J. Broussard. Gayla was a longtime resident of the Winnie – Stowell area.

Gayla was a fun-loving person, who enjoyed crafts, cooking, playing cards and bingo, drinking coffee and visiting with family and friends; she especially enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Savoie, Stowell; sons, Donald Savoie, Jr.; and Cody Savoie, both of Winnie; Jeremy Savoie and his wife, Lisa, of Nederland; father, Robert J. Broussard and his wife, Lillie, of Kenner, Louisiana; sister, Patricia Revia and her husband, Ike; Sable Touchet and her husband, Randy,  and Peggy Simon and her husband, Mike, all of Winnie; brother, Shannon Broussard and his wife, Rose, of Spring; grandchildren, Colton Savoie, of Hamshire; Carter Savoie, of Anahuac; Cayden Savoie, Courtney Burchett and Camryn Burchett, all of Nederland; numerous nieces, nephews, many other family members and friends.  

She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Ann Broussard; sister, Lena Broussard; and brother Mike Broussard.

A gathering of Mrs. Savoie’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Her funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 29, 2017, at Broussard’s Chapel, Winnie, with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Savoie’s name to East Chambers Ag Youth Committee, PO Box 76, Winnie, Texas 77665.
