Gladys “Ms. Pete” Bellon

February 9, 1947 - July 8, 2017

Gladys “Ms. Pete” Bellon, 70, died Saturday, July 8, 2017, at The Arboretum of Winnie. She was born February 9, 1947, in Anahuac, to Josephine Boudreaux Smith and Oran R. Smith.

“Ms. Pete” was the assistant manager at Family Dollar for over twenty-six years. She enjoyed crochet and arts and crafts.

She is survived by daughter, Tonia Bellon, of Winnie; son, John Bellon, of Nome; granddaughter, Jacqueline Pierce, of Winnie; sisters, Silvonia DeWees, of Hamshire; and Clara Davis, of Hemphill.

She was preceded in death by parents, Josie and Oran Smith; husband, Wayne Bellon, Sr; three brothers; and three sisters.

A private family committal will be handled under the direction of Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie.
