Jerry Pete Nele

April 5, 1938 - August 23, 2017

Jerry Pete Nele, 79, of Beaumont, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2017. He was born on April 5, 1938, in Beaumont, to Benny A. Nele and Tony Nele, was an area resident his entire life.

Jerry was also a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and throughout his life, he served as an altar boy, on the parish council, sacred heart club, and as an eucharistic minister.

Jerry was employed at Kroger grocery store and after forty-three years, he retired. He loved gardening, cooking for family holidays, and his dogs, Rita and Stormy.

Jerry is survived by his brother, B.J. Nele and his wife, Mary; nephews, Tony Nele and his wife, Ashley; and Benny Nele; niece, Deedra LeJeune; and great-nephew and nieces, Brooke Nele, Sarah Nele, Nicholas LeJeune, Lacey LeJuene, William Nele, and Eleanor Nele.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, James A. Nele.

A gathering of Mr. Nele’s family and friends will be 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 12:30 p.m., Friday, September 8, 2017, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. His funeral mass will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 8, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1115 Orange Street, Beaumont, with his interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.
