Johnny Martinez
Johnny V. “Beefy” “Backhoe” “SGT. Hombre” “Laminator” Martinez, 64, of Beaumont, died Sunday, January 15, 2017, at Christus Dubis Hospital of Beaumont. He was born on February 14, 1952, to Virginia Ortega Martinez and John V. Martinez, Sr., in Beaumont. Johnny was a retired Correctional Officer.
He is survived by his mother, Virginia Martinez; wife, Norma Martinez; children, Jason Martinez and his wife, Veronica; Steven Martinez and his wife, Laura; and Dori Waugh and her husband, Brian; grandchildren, Clinton, Alejandro, Justin, William, Aria, Chloe, Bishop, and Ila; sister, Yvonne Dominguez; brother, John V. Martinez, Jr. and his wife, Taleah; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Johnny is preceded in death by his father, John V. Martinez, Sr.
A gathering of Mr. Martinez’s family and friends will begin at 4:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2017, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2017, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2715 Calder Avenue, Beaumont, with his interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
