Leonardo Ruiz, Sr.

Leonardo Ruiz, Sr., 60, of Winnie, died May 17, 2017. He was born November 16, 1956, in Jalpilla, Gto, Mexico, to Alfonsa and Catarino Ruiz. He had been a longtime resident of the Hamshire-Winnie area, and worked as a mechanic.  

He is survived by his wife, Estela Ruiz, of Winnie; sons, Efren Ruiz and his fiancée, Patricia Garcia, of San Antonio; Leonardo Ruiz, Jr., and his wife, Whitney, of Kyle; daughters, Maria McVey and her husband, Chris, of Houston; Alejandra Ruiz and her companion, Jarrod Abalos, of Winnie; grandchildren, Amelia Ruiz, of Kyle; Gabriela McVey and Valentina McVey, both of Houston; brothers, Angel Ruiz, and Lauro Ruiz, of Center; Prospero Ruiz, of Denver, Colorado; Trinidad Ruiz, of Fort Worth; Faustino Ruiz, and Sagrario Ruiz, of Mexico; sisters, Catalina Perales, of Oklahoma; Maria Santana and Sylvia Ruiz, of Center; Maria deJesus Ruiz and Dolores Ruiz, of Mexico; step-mother, Maria Santos Ruiz, of Center; numerous nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Reyes Ruiz; and sister, Acension Ruiz.
