Lucy DeBartolo Blackstock

December 17, 1932 - June 29, 2017

Lucy Ann DeBartolo Blackstock, 84, of Beaumont, died peacefully in her sleep Thursday, June 29, 2017, at Christus Dubuis Hospital of Beaumont. She was born on December 17, 1932, in Beaumont, to Carmela Rumore DeBartolo and Tony DeBartolo, and had been a longtime resident of Beaumont. Lucy was an Administrator with the City of Beaumont Water Department for many years until her retirement.

Mrs. Blackstock was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, Ladies of St. Jude, Italian American Italian Society of Beaumont, Pilot Club, and volunteered at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth Gift Shop.

Survivors include her niece, Jackie Diane DeBartolo Marsh and her husband, Bill; nephews, Glen Ray DeBartolo and his wife, Mary and John Johnson and his wife, Nancy, and their son, Patrick Johnson; and many cousins and close friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Brenda Lee Puckett; brother, Jack DeBartolo; and sisters, Jeanette DeBartolo Kunz and Josephine Marie DeBartolo Johnson.

A gathering of Mrs. Blackstock’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with her Christian Vigil at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, July 6, 2017, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m., Friday, July 7, 2017, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 6825 Gladys Avenue, Beaumont, with her interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Orange.

A special thank you to Rena Wilson, close friend of Lucy for the constant care and dedication she provided for Lucy in her final days.
