Myrtle Mary Breaux

August 4, 1924 - October 11, 2017

Myrtle Mary Breaux, 93, of Fannett, died Wednesday, October 11, 2017. She was born on August 4, 1924, to Velmice Dupuis Neely and John Neely in Cotton Port, Louisiana. Myrtle was very active in St. Mary Church for forty years and was an Eucharistic minister and member of the Altar Society and Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her daughters, Mary Alice Stuart and Linda Domingue and her husband, Wayne, all of Fannett; Judy Mattox and her husband, Bill, of Buna; Jennie Alexander and her husband, Wayne, of Victoria; and Nancy Jones and her husband, Doug, of Vidor; fourteen grandchildren; and thirty-seven great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert “Frenchie” Breaux; one sister; three brothers; and son-in-law, Harry Stuart, Sr.

A gathering of Mrs. Breaux’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, October 15, 2017, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 16, 2017, at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 7467 Boyt Road, Cheek. Her entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary Catholic Church Building Fund, 9894 Gilbert Road, Beaumont, Texas 77705; Southeast Texas Food Bank, 3845 South M. L. King Jr Parkway, Beaumont, Texas 77705; or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
