Charles Willard Thompson, 62, of Silsbee, died Sunday, September 20, 2009 at Christus Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Charles was a life long resident of Silsbee. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp and did two tours in Vietnam. Charles was retired from Eastex Papermill and was the developer and operator of Thompson Lake Park.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Rae Buxton; sons, Brad Thompson and his wife Dora of Vero Beach, Florida, Randy Thompson and his wife Carrie and Rocky Thompson and his wife Tiffany all of Silsbee; ten grandchildren; mother, Lona Thompson; mother-in-law, Addie Mae Buxton; sisters, Linda Knott and her husband Joe of West Columbia, Texas and Patricia Hollister and her husband Ron of Silsbee; brothers, Robert Thompson and his wife Deanna of Mauriceville, L. D. Thompson and his wife Pin of Silsbee, and Reverend Tim Thompson and his wife Krisha of Highlands, Texas; thirty nieces and nephews; and special friends, Dr. Scott and Teri Kacy.
Charles is preceded in death by his father, D. C. Thompson.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at First Pentecostal Church in Silsbee with burial to follow at R. S. Farmer Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, September 22, 2009, 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Broussard’s.
