Beth Prevost

July 7, 1957 - May 19, 2018

Beth D’lane Shaver Prevost passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Christus Hospital-St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. She was born to Joyce and Maurice Shaver, on July 7, 1957, in Beaumont. Beth grew up in Beaumont and graduated from South Park High School in 1976.

As a child, Beth kept a drawer with bandages and medical supplies to nurse her own little scratches, as well as those of others who needed her care. As she grew older she assumed the responsibility of helping those friends and family members who were ill and needed assistance. This interest led her to attend and graduate from Lamar University’s nursing program. She then became a dedicated nurse in local hospitals and health care facilities.

Beth also had an undying love for animals. It was not unusual for Beth to rescue animals that needed a home. Her latest furry friend was found on a highway during a rain storm. Little Jack was nothing but a shivering ball of mud. Needless to say, Beth picked the tiny pup up and brought him home to love and comfort. He became her latest pride and joy.

Creativity also occupied Beth’s interests. She enjoyed creating, decorating, and sharing these gifts with friends and family.

Beth adored her family. She and her sister, Debra, had an especially close relationship. Beth knew that at any hour of the day or night she could always count on Debra. Losing their mother at such a young age was hard on the sisters, so Beth pulled closer to Debra and as the years went by their relationship formed a bond that would last a lifetime. The love they had for each other was unconditional. She is survived by her husband, Dale Charles Prevost, of Mauriceville; sons, Coby Prevost and his wife, Melissa, of Vidor and Cory Prevost and his wife, Amanda, of Royse City; grandchildren, Aidan Prevost, Gavin Prevost and Johnathon Prevost, of Royse City, Seth Prevost and Olivia Prevost, both of Vidor; and sisters, Debra Jo Hunt, of Beaumont and Joy Erikson, of Wildwood.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joyce and Maurice Shaver; baby Chad Prevost; grandparents, Eva and Bethley Shaver; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Verna and Charles Prevost.

Her kind thoughts and sincere love for those who shared her life will be missed and never forgotten. Beth is with her Heavenly Father in heaven and now at peace.

A gathering of Mrs. Prevost’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with her funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her interment will follow at 4:00 p.m., at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
