Brad Joseph Hardy
Brad Joseph Hardy, 50, of Nederland, died Tuesday, September 15, 2020, at Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Center, Houston. He was born October 26, 1969, in Nederland, to his loving parents, Mary Helen Pinell Hardy and Gene Joseph Hardy.
Brad was a United States Army veteran and owner operator of Eastex Lube Shop, Port Neches. In 1988, he graduated from Nederland High School and started his first career as a local pipefitter. At the end of 2000, he enlisted in the United States Army as a Blackhawk Crew Chief. While he was stationed in Korea, he met his wife of eighteen years, Nichole.
Brad’s love of the Nederland Bulldogs was well known around town and owning a business in Port Neches made for some very interesting conversations with those within the community. The rivalry is real. Brad would talk high school football to anybody willing to broach the subject with him. There was never a debate about the teams that he ever walked away from feeling as though he had lost.
Brad was a devoted KISS fan and made sure he brought his kids to at least one concert each so they could share his passion for the music. He loved baseball and football, especially the Houston Astros and the Houston Texans. Not the Cowboys, never the Cowboys.
Above all else, his greatest joy in life was his children. He was so proud of each of them and bragged about them as often as people would listen. Brad was truly a family man, raising his children the best way he knew how.
Survivors include his wife, Nichole Lopez-Hardy, of Nederland; children, Braye Hardy, of Dallas; Airforce Senior Airman Bryant Hardy, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Heidi Hardy; Leed Hardy, both of Nederland; stepdaughter, Hannah Lopez, of St. Robert, Missouri; parents, Gene and Mary Hardy, of Port Arthur; siblings, Penny Work and husband, Billy, of Lumberton; Dana Huff and husband, Rex; Tandi Waite and husband, Eddie; Mendy Romero and husband, Eddie, all of Nederland; and Gene Hardy and wife, Dianne, of Buna; and a large extended family of many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Eunice and Leed Hardy; and Annie and Eugene Pinell.
A gathering of Mr. Hardy’s family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m., with his funeral service at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 23, 2020, at First Baptist Church, 1900 Magnolia Avenue, Port Neches. His committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Nederland Athletic Booster Club, 2102 18th Street, Nederland, Texas 77627.

Mendy, Brads sister was my best friend in high school (still is) and I just remember calling Brad , Our Baby Brad cuz he was so much younger then us. He was the best looking kid and as he grew up and had children of his own I would see him and he always hugged me and asked about my family. Heaven gained a sweet angel and I know he will be watching over his family and waiting to see you again one day! My heart hurts for you all. Prayers for peace and comfort during this time. Love, Shelba

My sincerest condolences to the family. Brad and I were friends since elementary school and have kept in contact through the years. As a kid, I don't have many memories that don't involve he and his family. There are probably still legends floating around the halls of C.O. Wilson of the mischief we created in those days. I mourn his loss but will always treasure the memories.

Brad was my childhood friend. His family lived next door to me from 1968- 1979. We built treehouses, played baseball year-round and listened to Kiss records. I have not seen him in years but you never forget your childhood friends. Brad was something special and I am sure he will be missed by many including me.

Words can’t describe how shocked I am. Brad you were always a Great Friend/Brother. I remember the trips to the beach and Astro World. You making me laugh on the Alter when I was serving as a Alterboy. I don’t think I ever saw you without you having a smile on your face. Man those were the best times. I Promise you that I will check up on your Family. Fly with the Angels my Brother, also tell my Momma Hello for me. Much Love too you Brother.

Words can’t express the empathy that I feel for the family of Brad Hardy. Brad was a kind man who I had the pleasure of getting to know through Leed and playing little league and select baseball games. He was always supportive of our teams and a very proud father. I am very grateful that I got to meet him. Rest easy my friend.

There are no words that we could say that would express how deeply sorry we are for your loss. Just know that we are here to help anyway that you need. We will definitely miss seeing Brad at all the sports events and watching him cheer Leed on. Just remember that God works everything out for good for those who love him.
