Brenda Williams

October 6, 1952 - September 14, 2019

Brenda Wheeler Williams, 66 of Hemphill, Texas, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2019, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born on October 6, 1952, to Mary Hedges Wheeler and John I. Wheeler in Beaumont, Texas, where she spent her childhood. She graduated from French High School in 1971. Later, Brenda would make her home in Lumberton and then move to Hemphill in 2010. Brenda worked at John Wheeler Mobil gas station in Beaumont for many years. She was also a secretary at Lumberton High School, where she made many dear friends. She was a beloved wife, mother, Nana, aunt and friend. She loved cooking, cleaning, crocheting, traveling, and having a good time. She had an infectious laugh and a kind spirit and never met a stranger.  She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, with her whole heart.

She is survived by her husband, David Williams; brother, Gerald and wife, Betty, of Beaumont; her two daughters, Kristi Meredith Berryman and husband, Jason, of The Woodlands, and Jamie Meredith Stowers and husband, Steven, of Fussa, Tokyo, Japan; stepchildren, Jeremy Williams and wife, Robin, of Beaumont; Kyndal Williams Stack and husband, Jake, of San Antonio; and Cody Williams and wife, Chelsea, of Vidor; grandchildren, Caroline, Camp, Sam, Nellie, Austin, Hudson, Shelby, Molly, Emory, and Lincoln; sisters-in-law, Peggy Meredith of Lumberton and Robin Shafer and her husband, Eugene, of Vidor; brother-in-law, Danny and his wife, Bridget, of Bartonville; and many nieces and nephews that meant the world to her.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws, Robert and Rose Williams; and her brother-in-law, Gene Meredith.

A gathering of Brenda’s family and friends will begin at 3:00 p.m., with her memorial service to follow at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, October 13, 2019, Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

We will miss our dear sister-in-law so much. Loved her laugh, her obvious love of all her family, including step-children & their children, and her ability to put up with my dear brother. We will always remember her fondly until we see her again for eternity.
