Catherine "Kitty" McCarty

December 12, 1941 - July 24, 2020

Catherine Faye McCarty, 78, of Groves, died Friday, July 24, 2020 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas, Port Arthur. She was born December 12, 1941, in Nome to Geneva Irene LeBlanc and Floyd Edgar Hunter.

Catherine enjoyed the outdoors where she would garden or go sailing. She also enjoyed sewing and to take on remodeling projects.

Survivors include her sister, Irene Willey and her husband, Joe, of Groves; brothers, Floyd Hunter, of Galveston and David Hunter and his wife, Carolyn, of Winnie; nieces and nephews, Margaret Hunt; Leslie Engelmann; Gretta Klander; J.D. Hunter; Wayne Hunter; Atom Hunter; Debora Bass; James Brent Faggard; Ervin Faggard; and Michael Wayne Cox; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Geneva and Floyd Hunter; husband, Fred McCarty; and sister, Barbara Salim.

A gathering of Mrs. McCarty’s family and friends will be at 5:00 p.m., Monday, July 27, 2020 at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her committal will be handled by Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
