May 10, 1940 - February 24, 2021

Clarence “Sonny” Wright, Jr. 80, of Orange, died Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. He was born on May 10, 1940, to Theda Dabney Berube and Clarence Wright, Sr. Sonny was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt.

He is survived by many loving children; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; a host of nieces; nephews; relatives; friends; siblings, Nancy Murphy of Victoria; Johnny Wright and his wife, Jill, of Corsicana; and Jim Wright and his wife, Pam, of Flagstaff, Arizona.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lillian Wright; and sisters, Francis Harris, Betty Haugen, and Dorothy Branham.

A graveside service for Mr. Wright will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 26, 2021, at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview Cemetery Road, Winnie, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

I believe that this man was my father. I never knew the man as he and my mother divorced when I was still a baby. He NEVER contacted me or supported me in any way, nor did I ever contact him. I grew up never having a dad, so I have NO remorse or feelings of loss due to his death.
