Debra Black

December 10, 1962 - January 8, 2019

Debra Kay Black, 56, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. She was born December 10, 1962, in Monroe, Louisiana, to Rhoda Edna Roark Durden and Yancy Harvey Durden, Jr.

Debra was artistic and enjoyed painting and writing in her free time.

Survivors include her mother, Rhoda Durden, of Port Arthur; daughter, Naomi Marie Lofton and spouse, Rachel Dvoretski, of Houston; son, Michael Christopher Lofton, of West Monroe, Louisiana; six grandchildren; brothers, Reverend Carl Durden and his wife, Cindy, of Port Neches and Kenneth Durden and his wife, Pam, of Weaverville, North Carolina; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father and grandparents.

A memorial service for Ms. Black will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 12, 2019, at Crossroads Fellowship Church, 2005 North Peterson Street, Nederland.

I was so sorry to hear this. Debbie lived behind me growing up. My Mom had her hair done every week at her Mom’s hair salon, I spent much time going there. Wonderful memories. Debbie was a sweet friend, I remember her as a strong woman of faith and kindness,
