Ernest John Forey

February 6, 1929 - September 21, 2020

Ernest Forey, 91, of Nederland, died Monday, September 21, 2020, at Memorial Herman Northeast Hospital, Humble. He was born February 6, 1929, in Lafayette, Louisiana, to Agnes LeBlanc Forey and Morris John Forey.

Ernest was a United States Navy veteran. He volunteered with Meals on Wheels, Beaumont. He owned Forey’s Lawnmowers & Bicycles, Nederland for many years and was instrumental in starting the Southeast Texas Lawn Mower Association. Ernest was also a member of The Holiday Rambler Club. He loved the great outdoors especially while camping and traveling all over the United States, Canada, and Alaska. He also enjoyed dancing and building his shop and home.

Survivors include his children, Mark Forey and wife, Lynn; Carolyn Mazzola, all of Nederland; and Jerry Forey, of Kingwood; grandchildren, Jill Skero; Amanda Garrison; Joel Forey; and Brian Forey; twelve great-grandchildren; and brother, James Forey and wife, Pearl, of Nederland.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Agnes and Morris Forey; first wife, Cora Forey; second wife, Jo Forey; son, Terry Forey; and sister, Elaine Gros.

A gathering of Mr. Forey’s family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 25, 2020, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 26, 2020, at Broussard’s, with his interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.

Memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels, 4590 Concord Road, Beaumont, Texas 77703.
