Frances McCoy

April 3, 1928 - March 10, 2018

Frances Evelyn McCoy, 89, of Nederland, died Saturday, March 10, 2018. She was born on April 3, 1928, in Hammond, Indiana, to Bessie Kikkert Priest and Frank Priest.

Frances loved her family, celebrating birthdays and holidays and participating in events with her precious Sunday School Class friends. She was also very proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and treasured spending time with them whenever she could.   She was a devoted Believer in Christ and loved her church, 7th St. Baptist in Nederland. She also immensely enjoyed the gospel music of the Erwin Family, whom she greatly loved.

Survivors include her son, Dr. Brad McCoy and his wife, Debbie, of Duncan, Oklahoma; daughters, Karin Dowers and her husband, Terry, of Vidor; Peggy Lee and her husband, Arnold, and Brenda Burkhalter, all of Nederland; grandchildren, Jamie McCoy and his wife, Kristin; Jonathan McCoy and his wife, Candice; Kristina Clavijo and her husband, Andres; Joshua Reed; Nicolas Nikoloutsos; Andrew Lee; Sierra Lee; Brielle Burkhalter and her fiancé’, Slade Hicks; and Bethany Burkhalter; great-grandchildren, Rosalyn, Cooper, Carli, Lincoln, Vivian, Peter, Violet, Eloise, and Mason; and brother, Roy Ross and his wife, Sandy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lester McCoy; and sister, Margaret Henn.

Memorial contributions for Mrs. McCoy may be made to Seventh Street Baptist Church, 200 7th Street, Nederland, Texas 77627.

A gathering of Mrs. McCoy’s family and friends will begin at 1:30 p.m., with her funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 18, 2018, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
