Gene Cormier

Gene Cormier, 88, of Beaumont, died Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Summer Place Nursing and Rehabilitation, Beaumont. He was born on April 15, 1930, to Lucille Richard Cormier and Aldus Cormier, in Gueydan, Louisiana, and was a veteran of the United States Air Force and Army having served in the Korean War. Gene was owner of Tri-State Pawn Shop for fifty years. He was an avid bowler and spent many years in bowling alleys with his children. Gene loved to fish and was very proud of his tomatoes in his garden, but most of all, he loved dancing with his wife, Gloria.

Survivors include his daughter, Shelley Turner and her husband, Rob, of Beaumont; son, Ronnie Cormier and his wife, Cindy, of Silsbee; daughters, Lisa Pearce and Gina Bowman and her husband, Keith, all of Beaumont; grandchildren, Shannon Turner and his wife, Angel; Jennifer Burkett and husband, Jacob; Bryan Turner and his wife, Angela; Dustin Turner and his wife, Heather; Chanetelle Sundgren and her husband, Chris; Hailey Siemens and her husband, Michael; Wes Pearce and his wife, Liz; Alex Pearce and his wife, Tara; Amanda Pearce, Daniel Pearce, and Laci Bowman; twenty great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and family pet, Misty.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 66 ½ years and eight days, Gloria Cormier.

A gathering of Mr. Cormier’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
