Hazel Chambers
Hazel Mae Chambers, 91, of Houston, died Sunday, November 10, 2019. She was born on March 15, 1928, in Nederland, to Eunice Luquette and Albert Cessac.
Survivors include her daughter, Debbie Chambers, of Houston; grandchildren, Ryan Peterson, of Oak Harbor, Washington and Brittany Peterson, of Dallas; brother-in-law, Royce Chambers, of Groves; and sister-in-law, Shirley Funderburk, of Groves.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 42 years, Don Allen Chambers; and brothers, Mines Cessac, A.J. Cessac, and Willie Cessac.
A private family graveside service will be held at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches, at a later date under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.

When we moved to Nederland in 1967, we had the marvelously good luck to rent a house on Orange Ave. across the street from Don and Hazel Chambers. We enjoyed being their neighbors, going fishing with them in their boat, and ,of course, eating Hazel’s blue ribbon gumbo!! Though we keep trying, our gumbo will never be as good as hers! We’re so sorry that Hazel is no longer with us. She was a kind, generous person, and we are privileged to have know her. Charles and Beth Lazenby
