Jake Stone
Jake Stone, 39, of Hamshire, died Friday, June 19, 2020. He was born on January 4, 1981, to Barbara and Ricky Alan Stone, in Beaumont. He was a beloved husband, father, son and brother. Jake was a founding partner of Standard Mat and worked so hard and passionately to make it the successful business it is today. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and loved coaching his daughters and their friends in Little Dribblers basketball. Jake was a kindhearted person that impacted many peoples lives. If you knew their family, you knew the love he had for Nicki, Haylea, and Jenny. He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church, Hamshire. Jake was the treasurer of the Man Up Men’s Alliance and a founding member of Beast Feast.
Survivors include his wife, Nicki Lea Stone; children, Jenny Lea Stone and Haylea Michelle Rose; and mother, Barbara Flickinger and her husband, Ron, all of Hamshire; sister, Wendi Lee and her husband, Bryan, of Conroe; in-laws, Ricky Broussard and Brenda DeRanieri and her husband, Orlando; sisters-in-law, Samantha Hemmenway and her husband, Blake; Abby Williams and her husband, Tommy; and Sarah Romero and her husband, Shane; nieces and nephews, Hudson, Rylan, Harding, Hillary, Easton, Mia, Addy, Anni, Ellison, and Bennett; stepsiblings, Kacie Spencer and husband, Royce; Grant Long and wife, Shelley; and Jamie Lee and husband, Jeff; aunts and uncles, Randy and Charlotte Law, Gregg and Laure Law, and Bobby and Martha Stone; cousins, Jennifer Henry, Cindy Hearn, Amy Hamilton, Barrett Law, Jeremy Chambliss, Jason Chambliss, Danielle Stone, Brook Mead, and Doty Stansell; and other family members, Nikki McCoy and her husband, Chad, of Edmond, Oklahoma; Christi Jackson and her husband, Jared, of Nederland; Micah DeRanieri and his wife, Skylair, of LaBelle; and Tiffany Lavespere of Port Neches.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ricky Alan Stone; grandparents, Nettie and Robert Stone and Jo Ellen and Herb Law; aunt, Mary Gayle Smith; uncle, Kirk Law; and aunt, Sheila Chambliss.
A gathering of Mr. Stone’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at First Baptist Church. His funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 25, 2020, at First Baptist Church, 25304 Highway 124, Hamshire. His interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Beast Feast, P.O. Box 599, Hamshire, Texas 77622.
