James Parker

James Arthur Parker, 83, of Silsbee, died Wednesday, October 30, 2019. He was born on February 3, 1936, in Beaumont, to Myrta Davis Parker and Arthur Bert Parker.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Amelia Parker; Children, Debbie Blackwell and her husband, Howard; and Sheila Lee and her husband, Michael, all of Silsbee; Terry Moore and her husband, Bill, of Fred; and Betty Martel and her husband, John Holt, of Silsbee; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; brother, Robert “Butch” Parker of Silsbee; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Bess Spears.

A memorial gathering for Mr. Parker’s family and friends will be from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Saturday, November 16, 2019, at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 20468 FM 92, Fred. A private family committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, under the direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.
