Justin Singletary

September 19, 1996 - December 27, 2019

Justin Dean Singletary, 23, of Winnie, died Friday, December 27, 2019. He was born on the evening of September 19th, 1996 and was the only child of Wendy Mann and Kevin Singletary. He was loved immensely from the moment he arrived by numerous aunts, uncles, grandparents and extended family.

Justin was a happy child who enjoyed the activities most little boys cherish, going fishing and hunting, playing basketball, baseball, and football and hanging out with friends and family. From the time Justin’s father bought him his first guitar music played a significant role in his life. His love of music blossomed as he learned to play and sing. Those who knew Justin can produce at least one video of him singing and playing. As he struggled through the normal teenage years his friends, music and mama helped him become the person he was. Justin had a huge heart which earned him many friends. His constant smile and ability to make others laugh made Justin easy to talk to.

Ten days after his twentieth birthday, Justin received his most treasured gift, his son Jaxon. The day his son was born was one of the happiest, and proudest moments if his life. He was grinning from ear to ear when his precious Jaxon was born. Justin loved Jaxon as only a father can love a son. Everything he did was for his Jax.

Though Justin’s time with us was short his impact on each of us is forever. We will never forget his laughing, singing, joking, playing, and just being our silly Justin.

He is survived by his parents, Kevin Singletary and Wendy Benoit; son, Jaxon Singletary; grandfather, Charles Mann Jr., and his wife, Sandy; grandmother, Shirley Singletary; uncles, Clay Mann and Charles Mann III and his wife, Linda; and aunts, Diane Lenormand and her husband, David, Sandra Cornwell and her husband, Steve, and Rhonda Wright and her husband, Scott.

A gathering of Justin’s family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., with his funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 4, 2020, at Cornerstone Church, 3810 Highway 124, Winnie. His interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.

Sweet Wendy, I am so incredibly sorry for the loss of your Justin. I remember when you were pregnant with him and how excited you were. I was even at the hospital the night he was born. The night he became your everything. That will never change. He will be with you and watch over you until met him in heaven. He will also live on in your precious grandson. May you find some comfort in knowing that. Love always.
