Karen Kibodeaux Brown, 63, of Beaumont, died Friday, January 5, 2018. She was born on August 6, 1954, to Thelma Dugas Lowe and David Bert “D.B.” Lowe, in Port Arthur. Karen worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse and at the time of her graduation she was the youngest nurse in the state of Texas. She was most known for her care of the elderly, but she started her career at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. Karen had a true servant’s heart. She loved to travel and loved her time living in Key West, Florida.

Survivors include her mother, Thelma Dugas Lowe of Nome; son, Chris Kibodeaux and his wife, Katie, of Sour Lake; daughter, Danielle Kibodeaux of Beaumont; brother, Philip Lowe and his wife, Dona, of Crossett, Arkansas; sister, Lola Barraque and her husband, Carl, of Ivanhoe; grandchildren, Anna Marie Kibodeaux and Wyatt Christopher Kibodeaux.

She is preceded in death by her father, David Bert “Buck” Lowe and sister, Suzette Lee.

A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at China Cemetery, China, under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
