Leon Collins

November 20, 1929 - February 13, 2020

Leon Eldred Collins, 90, of Kountze, died Thursday, February 13, 2020. He was born on November 20, 1929, in Mont Belvieu, to Laura Mae Murphy Collins and Esker Collins. Leon proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Lerah Collins; children, Gene Collins and his wife, Debora; Sheila Conn and her husband, Elton; and Troy Collins, all of Kountze; and Randy Collins and his wife, Rebecca, of Bevil Oaks; eleven grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; stepdad, George T. Bell; brothers, Emmett Collins and Charles Collins; and sister, Vera Collins.

A gathering of Mr. Collins’ family and friends will begin at 11:00 a.m., with his funeral service at 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 17, 2020, at Little Rock Assembly of God, 5970 Highway 326 North, Kountze, under the direction of Broussard’s, Silsbee. His interment will follow at Old Hardin Cemetery, Kountze.
