Lonnie Etie
Lonnie Etie, 60, of Lumberton, died Sunday, May 30, 2021. He was born on February 21, 1961, in New Iberia, Louisiana, to Evelyn Ann Etie and Leroy Babin, Sr. Lonnie was a United States Army veteran and Patriot.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Lonnie was a faithful servant of God and was a jack of all trades. He will be remembered for his love of life and people. Lonnie was a faithful husband, father, and Nonk.
He is survived by his wife, of twenty-three years, Connie Etie; sons, George Perez and wife, Wendi and Justin Perez, of Houston; daughter, Cassie Broussard and husband, Matt, of Lake Charles, Louisiana; grandchildren, Jai, Drew, Peyton, Candy, Paloma, Summer, Lucas, Isaiah, Emma, Brandon, and Adam; great-grandchildren, Ella and Amias; brother, Leroy Babin, Jr. and wife, Penny; and sisters, Tracy Vice and Jessica Babin, all of New Iberia, Louisiana; and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Lonnie is preceded in death by his sister, Jeanice Babin.
Cremation arrangements for Mr. Etie were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the director of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.
