Marjorie Bieber

Marjorie Bieber, 82, of China, died Thursday, September 24, 2020, at Calder Woods, Beaumont.

Marjorie Bieber was born in Washington, DC to Leo Weidman, Sr. and Margaret Wagner Weidman. She became a registered nurse in 1958, taking her training in the hospital in which she was born – Sibley Memorial Hospital. She took an active interest in life, helping where she could, serving on the school board in Dover Plains, NY and later, on the board of the China Texas United Methodist Church. She also served as the church organist for many years. She became interested in quilting and supplied ones to her family and decorated the walls of her home with quilts.

She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Leo Weidman, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Albert Bieber of China, Texas; sister-in-law, Pat Weidman of Hilton Head, South Carolina; her sons, Carl Bieber and wife, Rita, of Mont Belvieu, Texas and George Bieber and wife, Viney, of Jasper, Texas; her grandchildren, Meagan Bieber, Kristen Bieber, Andrew Bieber and his wife, Brenda; Lauren Coburn and husband Luke; Haley Bieber; and great-grandchildren, Kynlee Johnston and Luca Bieber.

A gathering of Mrs. Bieber’s family and friends will begin at 2:00 p.m., with her memorial service to follow at 3:00 p.m., Friday, October 2, 2020, at China United Methodist Church, 205 West Washington, China. An interment of her cremated body will follow at China Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.

So sorry for your loss. I got to know Marge many years ago. She was not only an avid bookmobile user but a dear friend. Looked forward to seeing her every 2 weeks when the bookmobile came to China.
