Mary Virginia Dennis

Mary V. Dennis, 79, of Nederland, died Wednesday, September 6, 2017. She was born on April 25, 1938, in Carlisle, to Oma Frances Willett Thompson and Winfred Hazel Thompson.

Mary was a member of Nederland Eastern Star and Galveston Daughter of the Nile. She enjoyed reading, playing piano, and spending time with grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, David Dennis and his wife, Elizabeth, of Korea; Danny Dennis and his wife, Jenny, of Abertean, Maryland; Dee Dennis of Nederland; Donny Dennis and his wife, Lisa, of Nederland; and Dale Dennis of Nederland; grandchildren, Jordan Dennis and his wife, Jackie; Diana Dennis-Neel and her husband, James; Dannah Dennis; DeLanah Dennis; Karalyn Dennis; Mariah Dennis; Mackenzie Dennis; Elijah Dennis; Enna Dennis; Bryndan Dennis; Roger East, and honorary granddaughter, Abbigayle Adams; great-grandchildren, Abbygail Bourque and Dalton Neel; sister, Anna Chapman; brothers, Joe Thompson and his wife, Pat, of Clute and Carl Thompson and his wife, Susie, of Nederland.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman Howard Dennis; sisters, Glenda Burnaman, and Judy Nobles.

A gathering of Mrs. Dennis’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 18, 2017, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at Broussard’s, with her interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
