Michael Matthew Zambardino
Michael Matthew Zambardino, Native of Beaumont, recently of Lumberton, died Friday, January 15, 2021. He was born on February 27, 1948, to Annette Orlando Zambardino and Joseph D. Zambardino, in Beaumont and was a veteran of the United States Navy.
He was an avid sports fan who loved his Dallas Cowboys, How ‘Bout them Cowboys! He loved being outdoors and working in his yard, flower beds and gardening. Growing garden fresh tomatoes, broccoli, cucumbers, squash and green beans were a lifelong passion of his. He also had a passion for saltwater fishing, in his younger years many of his summer weekends would be spent on the Gulf Coast with his family fishing for Speckled Trout, Redfish and his favorite the coveted Flounder.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Simon Zambardino; sons, Todd Michael Zambardino and his wife, Emily, of Orangefield and Mark Allan Zambardino and his wife, Lindsay, of Beaumont; sisters, Catherine Goza Kelley, and Anna Greer and her husband, Al, all of Vidor; brothers, Joseph D. Zambardino of Corpus Christi and Damien Zambardino and Stephen Zambardino, both of Vidor; grandchildren, Hunter Zambardino, Parker Zambardino, Carter Zambardino, Logan Zambardino, and Madison Zambardino; and half-sister, Ann Herman of Fairview.
He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Annette Zambardino; stepson, Billy Wayne Hicks; brothers, Matthew Zambardino and Mark Zambardino.
A gathering of Mr. Zambardino’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m, with his Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, January 28, 2021, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Friday, Janaury 29, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1115 Orange Street, Beaumont, with his interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, Vidor
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105; Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516; or to St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund, 1115 Orange Street, Beaumont, Texas 77701.
