Mitchel Grimes

Mitchel Wayne “Mickey” Grimes, 77, of China, died Sunday, February 9, 2020, at Christus Southeast Texas- St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born in Childress, Texas, to Anna Mae Rambo and Mitchel Franklin Grimes. Mickey was owner/operator of Spindletop Equipment.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Grimes, of China; children, David Grimes and his wife, Barbara, of Hiram, Georgia; Stephanie Grimes, of Wichita Falls, Texas; Tammy Johnson and her husband, Al, of Lake Charles, Louisiana; Trisha Garcia and her husband, Miguel and Traci Drounette, both of China; grandchildren, Charlie, Ariel, Austin, Jasmine, Tatum, Andrew, Braxton, and Brayden; great-grandchildren, Adalee and McLain; brother, Ronnie Grimes and his wife, Sherry, of Beaumont, Texas; and sister, Patricia Pennington and her husband, Fred, of Arkansas.

Mickey is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Sandra Jablanski.

A gathering of Mr. Grimes’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 13, 2020, at Broussard’s, Beaumont, with his interment to follow at China Cemetery.
