Natalee Merriman
Natalee Merriman, 17, of Nederland, died Sunday, December 16, 2018. She was born January 11, 2001, in Port Arthur, to Pamela Jean Murray Merriman and Roy Shane Merriman.
Natalee seemed to have grown up overnight and lived life to the fullest. She was a college student and even took college courses while she was in high school. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, traveling, and having a good time at Port Neches Park at the river.
Survivors include her parents, Pamela and Shane Merriman; sister, Amanda Murray; brothers, Casey Pelton and Zachary Merriman; grandmother, Jessie Faye Merriman; aunts, Elda Merriman and her husband, Anthony Nomura, II., all of Nederland; Natalie Lavigne and her husband, Mike, of Beeville; and Nancy McFaddin and her husband, Andrew; step-grandmother, Cookie Merriman; niece, Miranda McBride; nephew, Conner Pelton; and numerous family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her son, Abel Kolten Smith; niece, Gwen Marie Bonsall; grandfather, David Merriman; grandparents, Patricia and Smile Burgess; and uncle, Luther Merriman.
A gathering of Natalee’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be Thursday, December 20, 2018, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.

She left me in February having gone through a very difficult time, and then came back to me again to end her 8th grade year. She came back with a spirit that I’ve seen in no other.
