Norman “Kane” Fulfer

July 3, 1964 - January 14, 2020

Norman Kane Fulfer, 55, of Port Neches, died Tuesday, January 14, 2020. He was born on July 3, 1964, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Judith Ann Robbins Fulfer and Jerry Buchanan Fulfer.

Kane was the first-born son of Jerry and Judy Fulfer. Being in a military family meant many moves to different states. He adapted well to the moves, made friends, always interested in sports, mainly baseball and football. After his dad retired from the Air Force they eventually moved to Godley, Texas where he attended and graduated from Godley High School in 1982. After graduation he served in the United States Navy and Army. Upon discharge they moved to Southeast Texas. He served as a paramedic for ten years before joining Diamond Off Shore where he was working as a paramedic/safety technician.

Kane and Ann met at a little league baseball game in 2002. They married three years later. Their blended family included five children. He was very involved with their children as well as their eight grandkids, no matter the activity, sports, band, dance, or gymnastics. Kane was an avid Houston Astros fan and attended many games with his son. They were also able to go to the world series. They have always been the joy of his life. Kane will always and forever be remembered as a loving son, brother, husband, dad, and paw paw.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Fulfer, of Port Neches; mother, Judy Fulfer, of Salado; stepmother, Helen Fulfer; sons, Justin Fulfer and his wife, Brittany, of Bridge City; Justin Darwin and his wife, Allison, of Port Neches; and Bobby Darwin, of Nederland; daughters, Allison Fulfer, of New York and Callie Harris and her husband, Chuck, of Nederland; grandchildren, Kynslee Harris; Laney Durio; Addy Harris; Damin Darwin; Camren Nichols; Eli Fulfer; MacKenzie Fulfer; and James Darwin; brother, Ian Keith Fulfer and his wife, Cecile Renee, of Salado; stepbrother, Tracy Lyne and his wife, Maria; stepsister, Lori Lynn Hutton and her husband, Michael; nephew, Joshua Fulfer and his wife, Imelda, and their children, Hunter, Gavin, and Huddson, of Salado; uncle, Charles Robbins and his wife, Phyllis; and numerous cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Buchanan Fulfer.

A gathering of Mr. Fulfer’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 20, 2020, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at First Baptist Church, 1911 Nederland Avenue, Nederland, with his interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
