In September 2014, Robert reached out to my mother, Lillian Bertrand Gray, his high school sweetheart, and quickly rekindled their relationship. They were married on 3/28/2015 after being apart for 60 years, and it was a pleasure to meet Robert, his son Shannon and daughter Sable. He moved to Kenner, LA and our family spent the next 3 ½ years getting to know Robert as a caring and attentive husband to our mom. Our family grew closer to him as we prayed for and cared for him each time he was hospitalized. Unfortunately, it became more of a struggle/strain as their health declined. Our family has missed Robert since his return to TX to allow his family to care for him, as we care for our mom. We pray that God comforts everyone who is suffering with a broken heart as Robert rests in the Lord.
