Robert Hershel Hunt

October 5, 1931 - August 9, 2017

Robert Hershel Hunt, 85, of Kountze, died Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at The Gardens-Altus, Beaumont. He was born on October 5, 1931, in Hillsboro, to Fronia Mary Elmira Bush and Hugh Harvey Hunt. Robert served in the National Guard of the United States, he later retired as superintendent of numerous public schools.

Survivors include his wife of fifty-five yeras, Gerri Hunt; children, Mickey Nathan Hunt and his wife, Debra Kay, of Pleasanton; Teresa Hunt Sullivan of Magnolia; Holly Serien Weyler and her husband, Randy, of Wildwood; and Melanie René Hunt of Kingwood; and grandchildren, Robert Nathan Hunt, Jared Ray Hunt, Liane Allyson Hunt, Shea Christopher Sullivan, Keeley Claire Sullivan, Corby Alys Casey, Kelby McCullough Weyler, and Hunter Gregory Flory; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, George Leslie Hunt and his wife, Ovela Hunt; Jesse Felder Hunt; and Harvey Lee Hunt; and sister, Elsie Valerie Ingram.

A gathering of Mr. Hunt’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with his funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 11. 2017, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze. His Interment will follow at Old Hardin Cemetery, Kountze.
