Vicente Camacho Delgado

November 20, 1954 - November 15, 2020

Vicente Delgado, 65, of Beaumont, died Sunday, November 15, 2020. Vicente Camacho Delgado was born on November 20, 1954, to Amor Camacho and Salvador Delgado, in Cueramaro Guanajuato Mexico. He later moved to Guadalajara Jalisco Mexico, with his family and lived there until 1973 when he came to Texas.

In 1974, he met the love of his life, Eva Zavala, and they married. Vicente began his machinist career for IDECO, and then expanded his experience throughout SETX working in other Machine Shops as a machinist. In September of 76’, their family expanded with the birth of their first daughter, Angélica María, then in July of 1979, Vincent, Jr. and in November of 1981, Amanda Desiree’ was born, 10 years later a surprise came in April 1992, with the birth of their last baby, Daniel Ray Salvador Delgado. Their lives were complete and Vicente and Eva, worked and raised their 4 children, in Beaumont, Texas.

Vincentes’ love for soccer as a child in Mexico, continued here as he was known as the BEST GOALKEEPER in SETX! Every Sunday you would find him at Babes Zaharias Soccer Field, plying his favorite sport! As years went by his love for sports grew as he cheered for the Dallas Cowboys and would attend games in Dallas and Houston cheering on his teams! Vicente never met a stranger and welcomed everyone with open arms and a cold Miller Lite! He had many hobbies such as playing washers on the beach with family and friends, playing Loteria, LCR, and dominoes on weekly family nights with his family. His love for music and dancing made him one of the best dancers at all the “bodas & quinceañeras” He also loved crawfish and spending time with his grandson trying out all the restaurants in SETX. He truly loves his family and it showed with his many stories and life lessons.

He was a member of St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica Church and a member of Men’s ACTS Retreat. Every Sunday after mass he enjoyed lunch with his family. The rule was, no mass no lunch! He loved watching his grandsons, Joshua and Liam, and granddaughter, Micaela amor, play soccer, and his granddaughters, Desiree’ and Alejandra cheer, he was so proud of all of them. His passion for soccer lives on through them. He passed on many of our most favorite sayings, such as “almost don’t count” “don’t be sorry, just don’t let it happen again” or as he would tell us “always on my mind”. He will greatly be missed and always remembered thru his many stories and quick wit.
