Vivian Billings

January 4, 1926 - January 7, 2018

Frances Vivian McClusky Billings triumphantly entered her heavenly home January 7, 2018, where she was greeted by her father and mother Henry E. and Luranie McClusky, and her brothers and sister, Ernest, Oliver, Penman, Herbert McClusky and Irene McClusky Davis.

Vivian blessed this earth with her charm and joy on January 4, 1926, and lived every day of her 92 years in total devotion to her heavenly Father, and her family. She personified and defined the roles of loving wife, mother, and friend. Vivian lived out her perfect love story with her husband of 72 years, Douglas Billings, who was always just a call, ring, or whistle away. Her love and devotion towards her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was inspiring. She laid the unbreakable foundation of selflessness, servitude, faith, friendship, and laughter within every single child and grandchild.

As Chaplin’s Assistant and Director of Baptist Hospital Auxiliary, she continued to serve, counsel, and grace the community with her warmth and smile for seventeen years.

Vivian was an avid cook and baker; there was never a birthday, holiday, or special occasion that passed without a special meal or dessert to celebrate the event. She radiated grace and friendship to everyone she met, and went out of the way to make everyone feel cherished. Everyone will miss her smile, laughter, and their special birthday-song phone call.

She will be forever remembered and loved by her surviving family her husband, Douglas Billings of Beaumont; son, Jerry Billings and his wife, Terri, of Coppell, TX; daughters, Kay Compton of Katy, TX and Renee Neild and her husband, John, of Beaumont, TX; and sons Randy Billings and wife, Anna, of Tucson, AZ and Scott Billings and wife, Ellen, of Fort Worth, TX; grandchildren, Kevin and Audrey Billings, Cortney Neild, Kim and Brian Erlanson, Christy and Eric Miller, Kelly and Brent Price, Brad Compton, Stephanie and Jeff Svatek, Preston and Molly Lewis, Brandon and Ashley Billings, Tori and Matt Kaiser, Madeline Martin, Kyler Billings, and Molly Martin; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

A gathering of Mrs. Billings’ family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with her funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 12, 2018, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
