W. L. “Scotty” Scott

June 19, 1922 - May 18, 2018

W. L. “Scotty” Scott, 95, of Lakeview, died Friday, May 18, 2018. He was born on June 19, 1922, in Crowville, Louisiana, to Beulah Myrtle Elum and Walter Scott, Jr.

Scotty enjoyed gardening and being at the lake. He could look at something and then go home and build it. He did many projects for his church over many, many years. Scotty retired from Texaco, and served his country in the United States Navy for eight years.

Survivors include his daughters, Judy Guidry and her husband, John, of Nederland and Gay Lynne Brown and her husband, Scott, of Livingston; grandchildren, Johnathan and his wife, Jo Beth; Josh and his wife, Cheris; Chandler; Leigh; and Brandi; great-grandchildren, Isla & Logan, Olivia, Zach, and Austin; a host of nieces and nephews and many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Scott; grandson, Damian Lancon; and two brothers.

Memorial contributions for Mr. Scott may be made to First United Methodist Church, 104 13th Street, Nederland, Texas 77627.

A gathering of Mr. Scott’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., with his funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.

I only knew "Scotty" in his later years, but I found him to be a kind, wonderful man.. I very much enjoyed visiting with him on the front porch of Scott & Gay Lynne Brown's home in Livingston, Texas.. Each day "Scotty" would sit on the porch to enjoy nature & the view of Lake Livingston and also share a few stories. My condolences to the family..
