Alex Leger, Jr.

Alex Leger, Jr. 73, of Winnie, died Monday, January 30, 2017, at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas. He was born January 31, 1943, in Beaumont, to Helen Theriot Leger and Alex Leger.  

Survivors include his wife, Donna Leger, of Winnie; daughters, Lisa Mae Phend and her husband, Danny, of Hamshire; Rayetta Lynn Hunter and her husband, Keith, of Winnie; son, Sean Leger and his wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Rusty Phend, Dianne Phend Harris, Alex Phend, Aaron Strickland, Allisa Strickland, Allen Strickland, Dustin Hunter, Gage Hunter, Wrainy Hunter, Chelsea Leger, Ross Leger, Taylor Leger, Sophie Leger; great-grandchildren, Layton Phend, Carter Phend, Kinzengton Phend, Remi Harris, Little A.J. Strickland and Aly Strickland; numerous nieces; nephews and friends; brother, George and his wife, Sherry. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Shirley Dailey; and brother, Jimmy Leger.  

A gathering of Mr. Leger’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 2, 2017, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2017 at Broussard’s Chapel, with interment will follow at Broussard Cemetery, Hamshire.
