Althea Suire

Althea Rockwell Suire, 84, of Beaumont, died Monday, September 10, 2018. She was born on August 13, 1934, in Utica, New York, to Nancy King Phillips and Frank Phillips.

Althea is survived by her husband, James “Jim” Suire, of Beaumont; children, Sally Whynot and her husband, Hugh, of Buna; Starr Suire Thurber, of Hamshire; James Russell Suire, Jr. and his wife, Laura, of Spring; Mary Suire Tate and her husband, Johnny, of Hamshire; and Jamie Suire Knox and her husband, Zach, of Asheville, North Carolina; son-in-law Jim Morgan, of Waterville, New York; sister, Marian Millard, of Chesapeake, Virginia; sister-in-law, Eleanor Phillips, of Madison, New York; grandchildren, Kellan Morgan and his wife, Yacarely; Brett Morgan; Kristy Johnson and her husband, Eric; Rachael Whynot; and Kate Morgan; Trey Thurber, Connaught Thurber, Jonathan Tate, Kira Tate, Nicholas Suire, Jillian Suire, and Baby-to-Be Knox; great-grandchildren, Ava Johnson, Aubrie Johnson, and Adam Johnson.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, James Rockwell; infant son, James Rockwell, daughter, Nancy Morgan, and son, Daniel Rockwell; and brothers, Don Phillips and James Phillips.

A gathering of Mrs. Suire’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:30 p.m., Friday, September 14, 2018, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 15, 2018, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 6825 Gladys Avenue, Beaumont. A private family committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
