Audrey Mae Staudt

Audrey Mae Staudt, 79, of Nederland, died Thursday, November 2, 2017. She was born on September 18, 1938, in Jefferson Island, Louisiana, to Marie Rose Arceneaux Duplantis and Alton Duplantis.

Audrey loved cooking, especially gumbo; and you could always smell the food on the stove. She enjoyed being outside and picking her flowers. Audrey liked to shop, maybe not buy anything, but she just loved getting out. Most of all, she loved her family and grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughters, Carolyn Bedwell and her husband, Scott and Karen White and her husband, Anthony, all of Nederland; sons, Franklin P. Staudt, Jr. of Nederland; Billy J. Staudt of Baytown; and Alton J. Staudt of Nederland; sister, Virgie Salenga and her husband, Rickie, of Nederland and Margie Duplantis Frederick of New Iberia, Louisiana; brothers, Nolan Duplantis and his wife, Doris, of New Iberia, Louisiana and James Duplantis and his wife, Jill, of Orangefield; and grandchildren, Colby Bedwell; Amber Brugette and her husband, Aaron; Logan Bedwell and his fiancé, Meagan Key; Meagan Stansbury and her husband, Todd; and Preston White.

Memorial contributions for Mrs. Staudt may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.

A gathering of Mrs. Staudt’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Christian Vigil at 6:00 p.m., Monday, November 6, 2017, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at Broussard’s, with her interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
