Barbara Sue Carl, 80, of Nederland, died Sunday, October 14, 2018. She was born on July 3, 1938, in Colmesneil, Texas to Carra Beatrice Davis Williams and V. Constance Williams.

Survivors include her husband, James Carl of Nederland; daughter, Myra Hanson and her husband, Chuck, of Beaumont; grandchildren, Waylon Carl and his wife, Antoinette; Curtis Hanson; and Kayla Hanson; great-grandson, Dwight Carl; and brother, Roy Gene Williams and his wife, Beverly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Steve Carl; grandson, Daniel Hanson; brother, James Williams; and sister, Louise Williams.

A gathering of Mrs. Carl’s family and friends will begin 9:00 a.m., followed by her funeral service at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 18, 2018, at First Baptist Church, 1911 Nederland Avenue, Nederland. Her graveside service will be held later that day, 3:00 p.m., at Homer Cemetery, Highway 255, Colmesneil. Services will be under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Carl’s memory to First Baptist Church, 1911 Nederland Avenue, Nederland, Texas 77627, or Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 1776 Yorktown Street #560, Houston, Texas 77056.
