Barbara Gunter
Barbara Gunter, 61, of Beaumont, died Saturday, June 6, 2020. She was born on May 18, 1959 to Barbara Holt Doyle and Marshall F. Doyle, in Beaumont.
Survivors include her husband of forty-two years, R.J. Gunter, of Beaumont; sister, Kathy Spitzer, of Dallas; father-in-law, James Gunter, of Lumberton; sister-in-law, Shari Whitmire, of Lumberton; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She is preceded in death by her sons, Matt and Jake Gunter; parents, Marshall and Barbara Doyle; mother-in-law, Carolyn Bell Gunter; brother-in-law, Crockett Whitmire; sister, Cheryl Collins; nephew, Sean Orr; and brother-in-law, David Spitzer.
A gathering of Mrs. Gunter’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 20, 2020, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 20, 2020, at Haven of Rest Cemetery, 13851 US Highway 90, Beaumont. Please observe social distancing guidelines.

I want to tell the family how much I loved Barbara. We've been friends for over twenty years. She kept in touch with me and my heart was always full of prayers for my friend. Just this morning I found a voice mail from her on my phone & her sweet voice touched me so deeply. I would have given anything to have been able to relieve some of her profound sorrow from the loss of her boys. If I could have held her in my arms & loved away her burden I would have gladly shared that with her.
