Barbara Mouton

Barbara Mouton, 84, of Vidor, died Saturday, January 23, 2021. She was born on July 14, 1936, in Groesbeck, Texas, to Pauline and B.W. Rhidenour. 

Barbara was a longtime resident of Anahuac. She worked in various nursing homes and doctor’s offices as a nurse. Barbara loved doing crafts and she owned a ceramic shop in Winnie. 

Survivors include her daughters, Tammy Fontenot and her husband, Michael, of Ville Platte, Louisiana; Misty Clark and her husband, Dale; sons, Steve Rhidenour and his wife, Beverly, of Groesbeck; Shannon Mouton of Vidor; Jamey Mouton and his wife, Madeline of Baytown; Joseph Mouton and his wife, Angela, of Anahuac; grandchildren, Lacey Davis, Memory Mouton, Jasmine Strange, Brianna, Gage Clark, Garrett, Clark, Matt Rhidenour, Kayla Rhidenour, Michael Rhidenour, Joshua George, Kelly George, Jathan George, Katlyn Mouton, Eric Mouton, Ryan Galley, Hailee Mouton, Jayden Mouton, Juliana Mouton, Dean Mouton, and Ricky Mouton; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Sylvia London and her husband, Jack; Marlene Hawkins; and Patricia Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of fifty-eight years, W.J. Mouton; son, Ricky Mouton; stepsons, Floyd Mouton, Lloyd Mouton, and Dudley Mouton; and sister, Charlene Bolin. 

Cremation arrangements for Mrs. Mouton were held through Broussard’s Crematorium, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. At a later date the family will gather to bury Mrs. Mouton’s cremated body in Roberts Cove, Louisiana.
