Bernice Lucille Fairchild LeVrier

Bernice Lucille Fairchild LeVrier, 95 a long-time resident of Sour Lake, Texas died on January 23, 2017 at Pelican Bay Assisted Living in Beaumont.

Bernice was born on March 13, 1921 to Idona Thompson Fairchild and John Fairchild in Roganville, Texas.

She married the love of her life, Arthur “Honey” Morris LeVrier on, September 3, 1938.  The two shared 49 wonderful years in Sour Lake, Texas.  Together they raised three children; Wayne, Sandy and Buster.

Bernice was a caregiver to everyone.  She had a beautiful smile and infectious laugh.  She welcomed everyone into her home with open arms and a hug. 

She loved to cook and especially bake tea cake cookies, for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She spent many hours playing card games and shopping – both activities she pursued with a passion. 

Survivors include her daughter, Sandra LeVrier Williams and her husband, John, of Beaumont; son, Donald Ray “Buster” LeVrier of Houston; daughter-in-law, Peggy LeVrier of LaPorte; grandchildren, Monica LeVrier and her fiancé, Larry, of LaPorte; Kevin LeVrier and his wife, Kim, of Port Lavaca; Troy Williams and his wife, Julee, of Frisco; Kimberly Williams of Beaumont; Kelley Williams of Nederland; and Trent Williams and his wife, Kelly, of Pearland.  She also leaves nine great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur “Honey” Morris LeVrier; son, Morris Wayne LeVrier; and eight siblings.

A gathering of Mrs. LeVrier’s family and friends will begin at 10:00a.m. with her funeral service to follow at 11:00a.m., Saturday, January 28, 2017, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her interment will follow at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Sour Lake.

The family wishes to acknowledge and extend sincere appreciation to the caregivers of Pelican Bay who provided not only excellent personal care, but loving devotion as well.
