Betty Joan Hext

February 28, 1933 - August 31, 2018

Betty Joan Hext, 85, of Beaumont, died Friday, August 31, 2018. She was born on February 28, 1933, to Gladys Johnson Goeke and Louis Goeke, in Rosebud. Betty was a devoted mother to her family. Her hobby was creating breathtaking floral arrangements and decorating. She also enjoyed a good healthy challenge consequently Betty was always ready for a good game of cards or a round of dominos.

Survivors include her daughter, Debra Leger-Jordan of Beaumont; son, Chriss Davis and his wife, Cindy, of Irving; grandchildren, Brad Brown of Beaumont; Derick Leger and his wife, Jennifer; Bethany Kennedy; and Stephen Leger and his wife, Jordan, all of Nederland; and Giovanni Alvarez and his wife, Michelle, of Katy; great-grandchildren, Bailey Nicole, Preston Leger, Easton Leger, Jaxon Leger, Aubree Kennedy, Abbee Kennedy, Eli Lee, Adaline Grubbs, Rylee Leger, Samuel Leger, Mazie Kate Leger, Julian Alvarez, and Elijah Alvarez.

She is preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Dustin Colby Leger; brothers, Louis Goeke, William Goeke, and Richard Goeke, and sister, Mary Ruth Garrett.

A family committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
